2025 Book Collection Submissions

CALLING ALL PUBLISHERS: The Read for Empathy Collection 2025 is now open for submissions

Since 2017 we have produced an annual Read for Empathy book collection, as a practical tool to help young people experience feelings of empathy and put it into action, and to give adults the resources they need to raise an empathy-educated generation.

The collection is divided into two age groups, one for 4-11-year-olds and one for 11-16-year-olds. Both have a linked Read for Empathy Guide for parents, teachers and librarians.

Submissions for the 2025 Read for Empathy collection are now open. The deadline for publishers to submit titles for consideration is 7 May 2024. The new collection will be launched in February 2025.

For the criteria and full submission guidelines, click here or download from the bottom of the page.

Please make a careful note of the number of titles you can submit, then submit below. Please complete a submission form for each book.

The titles in the collection will be chosen by an expert panel of teachers, head teachers, librarians and children’s book experts, chaired by Miranda McKearney OBE, founder of EmpathyLab and The Reading Agency.

The judging panel for the new collection will be announced in May 2024.
